This blog is the story of my home renovation. I will write about everything from how we decided to renovate our home, what project we choose to do next and so on. We are a family of 6 living in Modesto California. My wife and I have been married for over 10 years now and we both work as software engineers.
When we moved into our home about 12 years ago, we were young and didn’t really care that the previous owners had done a horrible renovation job. Over time, however, it began to show. The walls were paper-thin and wore off easily. The kitchen cabinets are made of plywood with particleboard to back them up and held together by sheet metal screws. This is not the case anymore!
One of the most important things we did before starting any renovation was to draw up a rough plan for us to follow. You can find our master renovation plan here . On that site, you will also find lists of materials needed and tools required.
